2009 Membership Meeting Recap
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for BOMA's October 27th special
site tour of the City of Tacoma's "Pacific Plaza" building on 13th street and
Pacific Avenue.
Here is a recap of what was discussed:
-
South Park Plaza
Garage has evolved into a newly renovated
state-of-the-art, green facility.
-
102 additional
parking stalls complement the existing 381
stalls; 2 floors of Class-A office space and
conversion of Pacific Avenue retail space;
reconstruction of the public hill climb
connecting Pacific Avenue and Commerce Street.
-
This project was
designed to meet LEED Platinum certification,
the highest possible rating awarded by the U.S.
Green Building Council.
-
Some of the
sustainable features include: a highly visible
green roof covering approximately 85 percent of
the building; a rainwater collection cistern
which reduces rainwater runoff and will be
utilized for water reuse in the facility and
irrigation of the green roof; a state-of-the-art
heating and cooling system.
