Program: Circadian Lighting: From Research to Practice
We are honored to have one of the premier experts in the field of Circadian Lighting as our luncheon presenter. Marty is an architect and daylighting specialist at ZGF Architects in Seattle and has worked on a variety of projects in the healthcare, commercial office and mixed use markets. His talk will introduce circadian rhythms and how it impacts our health. Then get into the aspects of designing lighting systems for circadian rhythms.
He will also provide examples of practical applications of this evolving technology, including lighting controls and fixtures. Plus a recent case study to wrap up his talk.
Speaker: Marty Brennan, ZGF Architects
Marty Brennan is a project architect and daylighting specialist at ZGF Architects. Marty fosters a proactive, participatory environment and promotes quality design on a wide variety of projects including healthcare, corporate office, and mixed use. Marty is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Master of Architecture degree and a certificate in lighting. He was a research assistant at the Integrated Design Lab in Seattle providing daylighting simulation and energy benchmarking for design teams in the Pacific Northwest as well as contributing content to the online Daylighting Pattern Guide. His research led to a deep interest in daylighting and circadian light. As a result Marty has co-developed the Grasshopper circadian light imaging application Lark and continues to incorporate forward-thinking lighting design into his projects.
