The Opportunities and Challenges Facing Real Estate: Industry and Education

Real estate is currently entering a time of uncertainty and challenge. While this is especially seen with technology, other issues are also increasingly potential disruptors for the sector. Both the industry and academia need to be prepared to both face and address these challenges. However, the sectors also need to assess what may be long term fundamental shifts and what may be short-term trends. They also need to embrace the opportunities that may arise. What is may the real estate professional of the future look like, what skills may they need and how may the industry and the education sector work together now to help prepare us all.

SPEAKER: Simon Stevenson

Simon Stevenson is the Chair of the Runstad Department of Real Estate and the John and Rosalind Jacobi Family Professor at the University of Washington. Originally from the UK Simon's background combines an undergraduate in real estate and graduate studies in finance. He joined UW in 2016 after working at number of universities in both the UK and Ireland.
